What does “Dual ORP” mean?
A: Dual ORP controllers (IPS-M820 & IPS-M920) provide two outputs for sanitizers (one primary & one secondary). In operation, this means that a primary (ORP1) sanitizer such as a Salt Chlorine Generator can be used to maintain a residual chlorine level, and the secondary output (ORP2) can operate a liquid chlorine pump as a backup for periods of heavy bather loads.
How many bodies of water can an IPS Controller monitor and control?
A: All IPS Controller models will control a single body of water. Residential pool/spa combinations that share a circulation system can be controlled by one IPS Controller.
What size bodies of water can IPS Controllers monitor and control?
A: There is not a minimum or maximum size (gallons) that our controllers can monitor and control. The size of the body of water only determines the size, type or number of chemical feeding devices that are controlled by the IPS Controller.
What is the effect of pH on the ORP reading?
A: pH and ORP are inversely related, meaning that as the pH goes up the ORP reading goes down. The opposite is also true, as the pH goes down the ORP reading goes up. It is critical to maintain the pH whenever using ORP to control a sanitizer
What other factors affect the ORP reading?
A: Many factors affect ORP readings including Cyanuric Acid (conditioner), Temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and a dirty ORP.
Can IPS Controllers be installed on my existing pool or spa?
A: Yes, installing IPS Controllers on existing pools, spas, and water features is relatively simple for service technicians. Electrical connections may need to be completed by a licensed electrician.
Can IPS Controllers work with my existing chemical feeder?
A: Yes, IPS Controllers can turn on existing feeders such as Salt Chlorine Generators, tablet feeders, and liquid chemical pumps.
